As an affiliate marketer it is important to network. You need to make contact with people in the industry. This is the only way you are going to learn and get inside knowledge to different aspects of the business. Attending meet up’s and trade shows are of great value. You should always carry business cards with you and do not be shy about handing them out. Even in normal business setting I hand out my cards. This does lead to a lot of people asking what affiliate marketing is and do I make any money. Then I give them a brief low down and their like wow I should be doing this. The more events that you can attend the better for your business. You should try to go to any event that is related to marketing online. Even if it does not sound like something that you are doing, you could end up walking away with some great contacts and information. This year I was not able to get to many events, but I am going to start attending more and looking for local sessions. If you talk to anyone in any business that has great success, you will find that they are great at networking. If you can cultivate relationships and build trust people will help you and lead in the direction you want to take your business.
