There are some new ideas I have used to make money online. The lack of spare time has delayed my ability to update this blog with these new methods. In the next couple of days I will be able to write my blog posts and update this site. If any one wants to write a guest blog post let me know through the comment section or on Twitter.

The next few months will be exciting for those wanting a pad computer, but do not want to buy and Apple iPad. With many manufactures coming out with pads running Android prices are going to be great for consumers. There are pads on the market for as low as $149 and the average price for a well built pad will be about $300-$399 which is the premium price point. If you can wait and avoid the Apple iPad you will be rewarded with some great devices and save some money. If you have used an Android smartphone then you know that there are thousands of apps. The market for pads is growing and consumers are in a win situation. If I buy an Android based pad I would be willing to pay around $250 for a 10 inch pad with minimum 16g built in with support for additional storage. The Samsung Galaxy S pad looks great, but it might only be offered from cell phone providers on a contract to a data plan. One new pad that looked great is the Archos 10 inch media pad running Android and with a very cool design. As I consume more and more media on portable devices I also want to be able to get services like Netflix and flash. It does look like many pad makers are adding support for Adobe Flash and this is a clear one up on the Apple iPad. The HP camp is also working on pads with the WebOS they recently bought from Palm. This might be a great alternative against Apple and Android, but it’s the apps that make the platform. Not so sure I would want a pad running Windows 7, but if Microsoft could put out a pad with Windows 7 mobile or the Zune HD OS they could be a challenge for the third place in the pad wars. It all comes down to price and the apps that your pad will run. If you plan on buying a pad make sure it meets your requirements. As I prepare to buy a pad computer I have written down all the features and apps I would like to have based on this list I can make a decision as to which pad I will buy.

Quality is also very important when buying a pad. You want something that will work. Nothing worse then buying a pad and not being able to control the touch screen. If possible try to test that model you want to buy or if you buy online make sure you can return your pad if it does not meet your standards.

The Samsung Galaxy S has a great size display for reading eBooks. With the larger screen reading an eBook is not hard on the eyes. The two eBook reader apps I tied were Amazon’s Kindle and Kobo. These eBook apps were easy to use and had a large selection of books. If you want to read on the go then this is a cheap alternative to buying a dedicated eBook reader. With a smartphone running Android you can start reading in under a minute. The Amazon Kindle app was a bit better then the Kobo app, the pages turned with just a swipe on the Amazon app. With the Kobo app I found I had to swipe the screen a few times to get the page to turn.
The book stores for both services carried a large number of books. The Amazon Kindle store did have better pricing. The price was constant at $9.99 which I found to be a fair price for an eBook. The Kobo store also had many titles starting at $9.99, but it seemed they did price a little higher then Amazon. If you buy a Samsung Galaxy S then make sure to test out these apps. You can find many free books in both stores and they download very quickly to you phone via wifi or 3G.

The Adobe PDF reader is also available for smartphones running Android. The next test will be to read eBook that I downloaded in PDF format. Overall I was very happy with my reading experiment on the Samsung Galaxy S and would buy more books. It took just a few days to read a full book on the Samsung Galaxy S about the same amount of time that it takes to read an eBook on my Sony Reader. One thing I liked about having an eBook reader app on my phone was that I could read when I had some spare time. It’s nice to pull out the smartphone and start reading while waiting for an oil change or in line for coffee.

Let’s face it making money online is not for everyone. At some point those who do make money online might have a dry spell that requires real world income as it’s know a real job. Now if you are like me it kind of suck to have to go out and get a job. What if you can hire someone to find you a job? Well it true you can out source job hunting. Wow imagine having someone looking for jobs and sending out resumes while you do something else. When you do get a job interview they will never know you did not actually apply for the job. With an assistant in India or other low cost country you can out source job hunting. If you can get someone to find 20 jobs a day and apply to those jobs for you imagine the time you would save. All they need to do is forward your resume and you will pay them $5.00 a day for say three days a week. At the low cost of $15.00 a week you can apply for 60 jobs without doing any work. When you set up the task with your assistant make sure to outline what type of job you are looking for and the area to search. Once they find a job and apply for you have your assistant email you the complete list of jobs applied for and company names and contacts. You can also have your assistant send out thank you letters after the interviews. This is a very cost effective way of doing a job search without any effort. You can also use this method if you have a full time job and are looking for a new position. It amazing what you can outsource. Even for this blog I have used outsource service from India and I can tell you it has worked out well for my business needs.

One of the easiest ways to get more sales is to build a relationship with your customers. This is a very cost effective method to increase the number of customers that convert into paying customers. If you are not collecting email addresses on your web site then you are missing out on a huge number of potential sales. There are many easy to use services to set up a pop form that asks visitors to your site for their email address. Once you have collected email address it’s time to build a relationship with the users subscribed to your newsletter. No hard sell you are building trust and providing the customer with useful information. This is why using an automated service works best for this type of marketing. You can set you first few messages to welcome the user and provide useful information. Once you have created trust then you can start to slip in a few related sales pitches. About two months ago I took on a part time job. It was a quick way to save some money to start a new business. The math I crunched brought me to a grand total of $35,000 to get started. This is the amount of money I need to pay rent and stock the business. As a new start up I will try to do all the work myself or ask some friends for help. The addition of employees would cost way to much for the first few month of business. As I grow the business I will add employees, but first I need to just get this thing going. The idea is to keep the business a bare as possible till I can prove that it will make money and then grow from there. There are many more steps to setting up a real world business. It makes my online business look so simple. With my online business it was very easy to set up and maintain with little effort. If anything I want to learn from taking this dream and turning it into reality. If I fail then I now know what I will need to set up another real world business. Many people say that the economy is tough and that I will lose my shirt, but that can be said about any type of business. The fact is that even in the worst economic times new business have been started and succeed. Now its my time to make a go of it. The fun part is that I am going to document my effort and share it on this blog as I move forward. Since the first step is getting the funding it might take a little longer before I can make and real headway in my effort.

The most difficult task for many adults is to manage money. If only schools spent just a little more time on educating children on the value of money. We need to make an effort to teach children at a young age how to handle money. It starts at home with the family and with support from the education system we can prepare the next generation to avoid getting into credit problems. There is not a single class on handling credit in high school, but yet there are many classes on subjects we will never use. Is the system set up so people will fail? Why is credit not made an important part of our educational system?
There are many people of influence that might not want this type of education in our schools. It wrong to not prepare kids for the future. If you have children you need to teach them about credit and the good and bad about borrowing money.

The news on CNN today is that Verizon is running low on Google Android based phones. The HTC Incredible and the Motorola Droid have been selling at a very fast rate. It could be the customers who want the iPhone are tired of waiting to get it through Verizon and are willing to go with the Droid phones. With so much bad press for the AT&T network and all the drop calls it looks like Verizon is picking up many new smartphone users who just want to make a  call and get online without any trouble from the network. If Apple is planning a Verizon phone it will still be many months away from hitting the Verizon network. Even with the modified phone for the Verizon network it looks like Verizon users are very happy with Droid. There is also talk of a new Motorola Droid 2 which will further enhance on the already feature rich original Droid. It’s a great time to pick a smartphone and there are many choices, but many will still prefer the Apple iPhone on AT&T. Let’s see how much Droid phone usage increases this year. The Android OS has now appeared on all major mobile networks and is growing as users share their experience with friends and family.

The clear choice for bloggers and online marketers is to use WordPress for content management. The easy set up and the amazing number of plugins make WordPress stand out for web site creation. There is a huge potential for making money online selling information products. The nice thing about selling information products is that you’re helping to solve a problem. Everyday millions use Google to solve some sort of problem. Now wouldn’t you like to get some of these searches to your web site? If you can track down some information products or create your own then it’s time to cash in. There are many digital download products that sell very well. People will pay for information that solves their problems. This is why you want to find a niche that you have a chance to dominate. This will help you make sure that users are reading and clicking thorough to the sales pages. Once you have a site that can convert just leave it to natural traffic unless you have discovered that your PPC campaign is providing a good rate of return. As long as your campaign is profitable keep PPC traffic on and monitor the traffic, but at some point you want to be getting traffic from as much natural searches as possible.
There is a great amount of money to be made from selling information products. In my tests my results have been mixed, but I am sure if I worked at building the best quality site my income would go up.
