The HTC Incredible and the Motorola Droid have been selling at a very fast rate. It could be the customers who want the iPhone are tired of waiting to get it through Verizon and are willing to go with the Droid phones. With so much bad press for the AT&T network and all the drop calls it looks like Verizon is picking up many new smartphone users who just want to make a call and get online without any trouble from the network. If Apple is planning a Verizon phone it will still be many months away from hitting the Verizon network. Even with the modified phone for the Verizon network it looks like Verizon users are very happy with Droid. There is also talk of a new Motorola Droid 2 which will further enhance on the already feature rich original Droid. It’s a great time to pick a smartphone and there are many choices, but many will still prefer the Apple iPhone on AT&T. Let’s see how much Droid phone usage increases this year. The Android OS has now appeared on all major mobile networks and is growing as users share their experience with friends and family.

If you are like me then you might have a bunch of old cell phones that you do not know what to do with. You hate throwing them out, but no one is going to buy these old bricks from you. The TwitterPeek Mobile is a device that allows anyone in the US to send and receive Twitter posts where ever they may be. The device does not need a WI-FI spot or signal instead it works through a cellular network and best of all there is no monthly fee’s. You just buy the TwitterPeek device for $199.95 and the service is included free for life. Now that seems like a great deal. If you spend lots of time on Twitter on a mobile phone then you might be adding up extra data charges. The TwitterPeek device is also a backup device if ever your stuck and need to Twitter this device can be a life saver. There are many people that make a serious income from using Twitter and the added value of being able to connect where ever they might be is worth the cost of this device. Now the bad side is that you will have another device to carry around, but if you Twitter from events this little device might just be the right choice. It’s nice to see a device devoted to Twitter and I think with unlimited usage at no charge it just clinches the deal.

The news is out the new Palm Pre is coming to Bell Canada. This is the only other mobile phone network that has been confirmed for the new smart phone. The new Palm Pre is said to be a real challenge to Apple’s iPhone.

The features that are included can seriously make this the next big smart phone. With the ability to multi task and slide out keyboard, business people are going to love the productivity of this unit. There are many things that you can do with the iPhone to run a business on the go, but the Palm Pre looks like a better option. With built in Wi-Fi and fantastic looking web browser that you can actually use. There are some many cool features on this phone from the camera to the live TV option. The details have not come out like price and what plans are going to be available. If it’s priced like the iPhone or lower then Palm might have a big hit on their hands.

No longer do you need to waste time when you are away from your home office. The goal of this post is to have you think about what little jobs you can get done while you are on the go, and I also have a challenge. Would you be able to work a week with only your mobile gadgets. If you are up for the challenge try working for a week only while away from home. In the first few weeks of January I will add a post about this topic which you can leave a comment about your experiences and challenges getting work done on the go.

The business community has been using Smartphones for awhile now, example Blackberry. With the new crop of Smartphones like the iPhone and Samsung Instinct, many small business owners can also get work done on the go. Since I live in Canada the iPhone was not an option as the cell company Rogers has a monopoly on the phone, and very expensive data rates. The only other choice I had was either go with a Blackberry also more expensive for data or get a Samsung Instinct. The prices offered by Bell Canada for this phone were very reasonable. The data plan was only $10.00 for unlimited mobile browsing and I added a cheap $20.00 phone plan as I do not use my cell for to many calls. The data plan was what I wanted and the price was right. The Samsung Instinct has a limited browser, you can see full HTML pages just not like the iPhone. The other problem with the phone is that some web sites crash the browser and it restarts the phone. Other then that the phone work great and has many features. This phone allows me to check my email and update some of my blogs while I am out. Since I do not need to look for a wi-fi spot this has saved me a great amount of time.

If you have a business that depends on the Internet or email then get a good Smart phone it will save you a great amount of time. Having the Internet on my phone has also saved me money when shopping, I can look up a price and know right away if the store is giving me a deal or not. As a Canadian I sure do hope more cell phone companies startup as Rogers has the only GSM network. If we get a second company with GSM then prices might go down and Apple might ditch the evil Rogers.
