There are times in life when the rain must fall. It’s not always as bad as it seems. There are relationships that change your focus. There are events beyond your control that for better or worse it makes you a stronger person. The events in our life define who we are and where we are going. This week I was faced with a decision that would reduce my income. After thinking things over I knew that the right decision was to make the changes and set a new path.

When I was thinking about what options I would have I needed to run over my short list of what losing this income would mean. No matter what path I have taken in the past I always found a way to make money. When I lose a source of income my mind just works over time and new money making ideas just seem to come to me. The choice to lose this income source was to gain more time to spend with my family. In the short run I will miss the money, but a new source of income will appear. Not sure what that source will be, but I will focus all my energy to reach my goal. Sometimes the rain must fall, but if you plant seeds you will be better off in the long run.

The steps I am taking today will give me more time to spend with my family. There will be more time to work out new projects.

They say time is the most precious thing we have and it is very true. It nice to be getting back some of my time even if I lose a bit of income in the process.

Let’s face it making money online is not for everyone. At some point those who do make money online might have a dry spell that requires real world income as it’s know a real job. Now if you are like me it kind of suck to have to go out and get a job. What if you can hire someone to find you a job? Well it true you can out source job hunting. Wow imagine having someone looking for jobs and sending out resumes while you do something else. When you do get a job interview they will never know you did not actually apply for the job. With an assistant in India or other low cost country you can out source job hunting. If you can get someone to find 20 jobs a day and apply to those jobs for you imagine the time you would save. All they need to do is forward your resume and you will pay them $5.00 a day for say three days a week. At the low cost of $15.00 a week you can apply for 60 jobs without doing any work. When you set up the task with your assistant make sure to outline what type of job you are looking for and the area to search. Once they find a job and apply for you have your assistant email you the complete list of jobs applied for and company names and contacts. You can also have your assistant send out thank you letters after the interviews. This is a very cost effective way of doing a job search without any effort. You can also use this method if you have a full time job and are looking for a new position. It amazing what you can outsource. Even for this blog I have used outsource service from India and I can tell you it has worked out well for my business needs.

Last week I was hit with stomach flu and it really killed my productivity. The last thing on my mind was making money. The flu took my energy and I could not get anything done. The only things that I did was sleep or play a few video games. Even games were no fun with the flu taking all my energy. After about two days of being hit by the nasty little bug I felt a little better.

The flu went away, but I was not feeling very motivated. With no interest in getting anything productive done, I just took a few days off. That was a mistake because I got addicted to the game Peggle it’s a fun little puzzle game that you can download online. It was a mistake to install it on my laptop and instead of getting back to business I was trying to beat my high score. Well after working hard for so long I figured I was allowed a little fun.
It’s tough to get back to work, but I have too many projects to complete. Slowly I will get back to work and should be back to my normal schedule by the end of the week. Now just one more quick game of Peggle and it’s back to work.

It’s nice to be able to take thousands of pictures and store them on a memory card. The problem is that unlike the old days you do not have a paper copy or negatives to reprint. There is also a more likely chance that the computer will crash and take all your pictures then losing your old fashion photo albums. It pays to backup digital pictures and your memories won’t be lost for ever. The most popular way to back up photos is to store them on a CD or external drive. With a back up copy at least you have a way to get your pictures back if the computer crashes. An even better way to store pictures is with an online service like Flickr. With a back up copy of your pictures on an external media and online at least your are covered if you need to restore your pictures. Having your pictures online also allows you to share photos with friends and family.

Next time you take pictures remeber to back up and keep extra copies in a safe place. You can never get back those memories and every effort to keep them safe must be taken.

Tonight I watched a new form of infomercial that aired on Canadian TV. It is run by a company called CallTV.com and they have this type of infomercial running in over 40 countries. This program is like a game show where large dollar amount can be won. The presenter puts up some sort of quiz or puzzle and then people call in on a 900 number for $1.99 a pop for a chance to answer the question. The catch is that not all callers make it to air to answer the question, yet they are still charged $1.99 just for calling in. The company that runs this program makes money on premium telephone calls most that never get answered by the host. The company either will buy air time on a local station or split the revenue. In a hour many people will call and only a few might make it on air. The amount to be made in a hour can be huge. The viewer is told about the cost up front and how the program works, but the odds of winning are very low. This company has managed to run a good scam on TV and in a legal way. If you Google Call TV scam you can see that in the UK they have many complaints. Now let me know how I can get some of this action, because it seems there is a lot of money to be made.

With the amount of time I spend online to make money I risk not having a meaningful life. On average to make money online I need to spend about 15 hours a day in front of my computer. There are days that I spend less time on the computer and I go on to do other things. With so much time spent trying to make money there is less time to spend with the family and to enjoy other activities. Don’t get me wrong I love working from home and on the computer. The computer has been part of my life since I was 6 years old and I could not live without some sort of interaction with the computer. What I need to do is take a few hours away from the computer and have some sort of balance. In order to have a meaningful life it is not all about money or work. We need to spend time with our families and enjoy the simple things in life. If you can do both make money and spend time with those you love you are working towards a better more meaningful life.

A few days ago I was watching Wall-e and the song Put On Your Sunday Clothes from the musical Hello Dolly just caught my attention. There was something about this song that made me want to find out what it was. This got me thinking how many other people might have felt the same emotion towards this song. With a quick search I found that this song from 1969 was being rediscovered by a new generation.  When the makers of Wall-e add this song to the soundtrack did they know that they would get a new generation to listen to this song and want to watch Hello Dolly, was this a marketing effort. When children watch movies their parent or an older person usually watch the movie at the same time. What a great way to market content to an audience who was expecting to just watch a kids movie, and now want to go out and rent the original movie that the song was featured in. When I went through the comments on YouTube it seems many people found the song from watching Wall-e. It’s funny how a movie from 1969 is now on my list of movies to watch.

Enjoy! It’s a make you feel good song.

It’s been a while since I last worked on the back end of vendingmatic.info and it was about time for a change. The changes started with a new template which I find makes reading easier on the eyes. There is also the addition of video and Twitter updates. The video box will allow me to add my own video content in the future. One thing I have been meaning to add was a Twitter update section. These little changes add to the experience of this blog. It’s been almost a year that this blog went up and I hope the readers appreciate my effort to provide new ideas to make money online. As I continue to grow the blog any back links would be appreciated. If you want to exchange links just leave a comment and I will respond as soon as possible. Let me know what you think of the new changes and if there is anything I could make better.

The last few months a few famous people passed away and their Twitter account lived on. It just made me think how much stuff I have online and no one would know what to do with my accounts. In the case of Twitter your last update will stay online forever marking a time or place just before your death. It is morbid to think about, but technology has just created a situation that family members or friends would not know how to deal with. It would be a good idea to put all your online information in a note book and keep it in a safe place. In case something does happen you know your family can either delete an account or take care of the account. If you are an affiliate marketer you might still be getting paid a long time after your gone. Not to bring anyone down, but your online business should be treated as any other business and you need to have a plan for when you are no longer able to run the business.
