December 8th, 2009Advertising, Google AdwordsThis week many Google Adwords account got banned. The thing is that many people were running clean campaigns and tried to follow Google rules. Even those with re bill offers had full disclosure on their pages. It kind of a sad way for Google to deal with loyal customers. It’s true that as a Google search user I understand that they are trying to make their search engines less spammy and want to protect consumers, but they must be fair. If an account was at risk of being banned then why did Google not contact the account holder and let the person correct the site so that it meets Googles standards. What they did was ban a great number of account and provided no reason or an appeal process. In my opinion I believe that Google should try to work this out and allow Adwords banned accounts to appeal and resolve any issues. Any other PPC networks would work with the advertiser to make the campaign complient. In the future I hope Google understands that they might be cleaning up their search engine, but they are also playing with peoples income. Without bad mouthing Google, I am just saying if you want to clean your site then work with those you might affect.

Many publishers have Google Adsense and are stuck at a few cents a day from clicks on their sites. The Adsense program is great and many people do make a decent amount of money from having those ad’s displayed over various sites. The best way to monetize your site is with affiliate offers, which can pay anywhere from $10 to $50 per action. May 5th, 2009Advertising, Affiliate Networks, Books, Cool Stuff, Free Stuff, Goal Setting, Google Adwords, Home Office, Online BusinessA few months ago I bought a Sony eBook reader. This has to be one of the coolest gadgets that I have ever bought. As an avid reader I love the fact that I can download eBooks from the Sony Store Online in seconds. This does take the joy out of visiting my local book store, but it’s so convenient.

The eBook reader cost me $279.99 at the Sony Store. The salesperson marked it down as I missed a sale a few weeks prior. The unit is solid it feels well made and it is very light weight. In comparison to a real book, you will notice the difference between the eBook Reader and for example a book like Snowball which is 800 pages long. The Sony eBook reader is not only an eBook reader, but also a picture viewer and MP3 Player. The sound from the MP3 player is fantastic one of the best players that I have ever tested. You can listen to music while you read, but the controls are a little odd. If Sony could have made a better interface to control the music while reading, I would use the MP3 player a lot more. The picture viewer is just an extra it has no real value as the picture are shown in black and white. The unit also comes in brown leather cover. The cover helps protect the screen and it looks great.

The main reason to buy this item was to read books. As an eBook reader it is amazing with a screen true to a real book. The ink technology used makes reading on the device very easy on the eyes. It’s almost like reading a real book. You might notice a little difference at first and pages take a few seconds to load, but other wise it very close to reading a real book. At present I have over 1000 eBooks loaded on the memory card (It takes SD and Memory Stick plus built in memory). The unit also includes software to connect the device to the Sony eBook Store and to transfer your files. The software is sort of like iTunes for the iPod. The software was very easy to use and I found the whole process of buying a book and uploading it to the device painless. This is a great device and if you love to read you will not be disappointed. The Amazon Kindle is also highly recommended as an eBook reader, but it was not available in Canada. Overall I am very happy with this device and look forward to reading many eBooks on it.

February 23rd, 2009Affiliate Networks, Goal Setting, Google Adwords, Home OfficeWorking from home is great, until you have to clean up the home office. Unlike a regular job a cleaning crew does not come in at night. The only cleaning crew around here is my wife and yes me. Since I run a few different business online there is always a bit of clutter. With my eBay business there is always unsold merchandise and odd items that I have no idea if they will ever sell.
Site Builder, Photo Gallery, Blog + Web Space and Free Domains!
Some stuff I keep around for garage sale season. The rest is constantly selling and I order more from my supplier so there is always something around. With my other online business it’s more paper work and computer gadgets that help the sites I run smoothly. There is also a work area where I pack eBay stuff and store supplies for shipping. That means every-time I clean up around here it’s a nightmare.

November 26th, 2008Advertising, Google AdwordsA few weeks ago I signed up for ppc with 7 Search it is almost like Google Adwords. The traffic is a little different and you will not get the same results as with Adwords, but you will get real traffic. In that I mean that the traffic that 7 Search sends over is highly related and interested in what you are offering.
The first real test for this ppc program started yesterday, I place my ad and had about 80 clicks in just a few hours. This turned into 7 clicks on my web site direct to products. The clicks so far did not turn into sales, but I will keeping testing for another few days or until I reach my campaign goal of $30.00 if by then there is no sales I will pull the plug and try a new campaign.

November 7th, 2008Advertising, Google Adwords, Online BusinessWith most of the advertising I do with PPC I have be using Google Adwords. A few other sites I visit suggested another PPC network called Bidvertiser. It works almost like Adwords accept it runs on a smaller network of sites and you do not get the search traffic. The cost is also much lower to bid on keywords. There are two products that I want to advertise, but did not want to spend a lot on. The set up process for Bidvertiser was simple and I had my ad’s running within the day. Since this is new PPC network I will post results once the programs have been running for a week.
If you sign up throught the link you will also get $20.00 added to your account.
