Garage Sale Season
View Comments
April 27th, 2009Cool Stuff, Ebay, Goal SettingThis is the time of the year people start having garage sales. If you sell on eBay this is the best source for merchandise. Many great bargains to be found. The other thing I like about garage sales is that I find books and cd’s that I wanted to buy, but not at full price. Last year I scored a good number of books that would have cost $30.00 for about $1.00 each. Look around and find out when people in your area are having garage sales you never know what you are going to find.

April Was A Bad Month For Me!
View Comments
April 25th, 2009Goal SettingThe month of April was not a strong month for me. The first few weeks of the month I was sick and did not get much work done. A few of my performing campaigns were dropped from the affiliate networks. With that said it’s time to have a game plan for May. I want to break all my records and I can do it. Getting some work done to have campaigns up and running. The thing about affiliate marketing and I have said this before is to get sales early in the month.
If you start with a great first week then you will not be disappionted at the end of the month. The other thing I am working on is more organic traffic. The PPC cost is sky high and eats my profits. Must try other types of advertising.
Well may May be a great month for all of us in affiliate marketing.

Cleaning Up the Home Office
View Comments
February 23rd, 2009Affiliate Networks, Goal Setting, Google Adwords, Home OfficeWorking from home is great, until you have to clean up the home office. Unlike a regular job a cleaning crew does not come in at night. The only cleaning crew around here is my wife and yes me. Since I run a few different business online there is always a bit of clutter. With my eBay business there is always unsold merchandise and odd items that I have no idea if they will ever sell.
Site Builder, Photo Gallery, Blog + Web Space and Free Domains!
Some stuff I keep around for garage sale season. The rest is constantly selling and I order more from my supplier so there is always something around. With my other online business it’s more paper work and computer gadgets that help the sites I run smoothly. There is also a work area where I pack eBay stuff and store supplies for shipping. That means every-time I clean up around here it’s a nightmare.

February 6th, 2009Ebay, Goal SettingSince this is a short month, I have been trying to make as much money as I can at the start of the month. This way if the end of the moth tanks then I have enough to cover the expenses for the month. This is a great way to actually work your online business. Try to start the month as strong as possible and then you do not have to stress it so much at the end of the month. Get cracking and make as much as you can this month.

Setting Some Goals
View Comments
January 3rd, 2009Ebay, Goal SettingThe new year is here and I want 2009 to be a fantastic year for my online business. With the economy the way it is and a tough year ahead, setting goals can make a difference in what I can get done. Since there are so many things I can not change I will work with what has been good to me in the past year. One of my main sources of income is and has been eBay for a great number of years now. The thing with eBay is that you always have to deal with customer service issues. Then there is the packing and shipping. In the new year I will limit what I sell on eBay and work more on my affiliate offers. With affiliate offers you do not have to worry about customer service or shipping, some one else does it all for you. The first thing I am doing is finding out what my eBay fee’s average per month. Then I can create advertising ppc for some of my affiliate offers and see if I can beat my eBay profits. If I can start to show results with my effort then eBay will be further on the back burner and I will use eBay as a back up source of income for those odd months that my other offers are not making money. In a previous post I wrote that eBay was going downhill and I do think many sellers are not as focused on the platform. It has been difficult to compete, when so many items for sale on eBay now ship direct from China or Hong Kong. How are North American based sellers to compete on price. Last week I bought a usb bluetooth adapter for $4.35 with free shipping to Canada. The same item cost $35.00 in a local computer store. As more and more China based companies get on eBay there will be fewer and fewer sales.
Goal 2009:
More sources of income less dependency on eBay.

Goal For January
View Comments
December 23rd, 2008Goal SettingToday I worked on a few ideas to make money in January. It might seem that with the economy the way it is, that January would be a bad month to make money. There are still many opportunities that an online marketer can take advantage and make some good money. After the holidays I will write out some ideas and start setting them up. The dollar amount I would like to make in January would be $1200.00 which would be a great start to the year.
