It’s been a while since I last worked on the back end of vendingmatic.info and it was about time for a change. The changes started with a new template which I find makes reading easier on the eyes. There is also the addition of video and Twitter updates. The video box will allow me to add my own video content in the future. One thing I have been meaning to add was a Twitter update section. These little changes add to the experience of this blog. It’s been almost a year that this blog went up and I hope the readers appreciate my effort to provide new ideas to make money online. As I continue to grow the blog any back links would be appreciated. If you want to exchange links just leave a comment and I will respond as soon as possible. A few days ago I started to notice that a site that had done very well for me was not getting and sales. It had been a big producer and I know that pattern for the last few months had been steady. When I went to my domain I noticed a message from the ISP that said this site was no longer in service. With a quick phone call I called the ISP and found out that since a used a brand name in the domain the trademark owner had claimed the domain. The point is I am not going to dispute that they legally do own the name in question, but it was part of a group of words. It also helped describe what was being sold on the site. When I got this domain I was actually surprised no one else had registered it including the trademark owner. In the end the site made a constant profit for about 6 months. The actual site can be rebuilt and re branded. The only thing is that the SEO that the site had built in the last 6 months are gone. Lesson learned is if you plan on building a site and spending time and money on it, make sure no one can just take your domain away.

This week I set up a few hours to do article writing. If you have not used article writing it’s a fantastic way to get traffic to your web site. You write on a topic that fits in with the theme of your site and then submitted to the article directory sites. Once your article is approved it will start showing up in the search engines and the signature file at the bottom of your article will link back to your site. If the person reading your article found it to be of value then they might click back to your site and your will have a visitor. This is a great way to promote your site and to provide your knowledge to others. The most popular article site is ezinearticles.com it’s free to set up an account and start submitting.

It started a few weeks ago with a search for a new theme. The previous them on Vendingmatic was practical, but felt a little tight. The posts were also a little difficult to read in the color that the theme had set. Looking at this new them it feels clean with no clutter and it makes reading better. Looking at adding a few more features, but for now hope you will find this a better theme and continue to read this blog.

If you have a web site and want to get more visitors then use Hub Pages. This is a free page creation web site. You can write pages on almost anything. If you are in doubt of what you can write on Hub Pages they make it clear right away when you sign up. This site is more geared at getting visitors to your main site. You do not want to plaster affiliate links as you will have your page taken down.  If you write a page about something related to your site then add a link somewhere in your article then that’s fine. You can also make money with Hub Pages as they offer a method to add your Google AdSense publisher ID and your Amazon ID. Overall I would say Hub Pages are perfect to promote your web sites and to share your knowledge.

As a business man Diddy has done very well for himself and we should learn from his marketing. Visit Diddys sites and you will see how much this man works and promotes his brands. We should all have his energy to promote our affiliate offers or other business.

With so many web sites on the Internet you need to brand yourself. The most successful bloggers like John Chow or Shoemoney understand this branding. They get visitors to their site that might not even care about making money. What drives traffic is that they got their name and site out there, and more and more people start to find them and read their blogs. If you are a blogger then you need to think about branding. Regardless of all the good content you create you  till want people to remember you when they leave your site.

We all know that McDonald’s logo or Coca Cola and Shoemoney. Having a logo is a key way for people to remembering your brand. This blog at some point will get a new logo I know that this is important in marketing. As an example the traffic on this site had gone up every month since it began. With more people coming back I want to create a logo that people will remember and if they see it online again they think back to my blog.

The other steps of branding is getting your name out there. This site is Vendingmatic, when I go online my user name on other sites might be Vendingmatic.
