February 26th, 2009Free Stuff, twitter
The other day I was thinking up ways to build up my twitter followers list. Since my twitter is only a few weeks old I can’t expect it to grow unless I promote it.http://twitter.com/Vendingmatic
The idea I had was to create a twitter business card. This card will only have very basic info and the only contact information would be my twitter address.
Since I can get free business cards online I will try this out with my free cards.
Give it a try let’s see if more people will follow with just a reminder business card.
Here is where I got my cards click.

February 26th, 2009Affiliate NetworksThere are many affiliate programs that are not on some of the networks. There was one site that I was building and there was a lack of affiliate programs for the niche that I was going for. With a simple google search I found a few merchants that had the products that I needed and that had in house affiliate programs. The only thing with going this way is that you might not get paid or they can steal your sales through their tracking system. It’s a good idea to test their site by placing a few orders and measuring traffic if you are using PPC to see if it all adds up. There would be nothing worse then send tons of traffic to a site and then getting screwed out your commission. You might also want to call the affiliate manager for the site and ask a few questions. You can also do a google search for other affiliates signed up to this company. Get reviews or other information. If the company screwed other affilaites a simple google search would turn up many negative remarks.

February 25th, 2009EbayWith all the other business I have online I let my Power Seller status slip on eBay. When eBay was my only online business I used to update and find new items to sell all day long. There were no other distractions. Then I went on to starting site for affiliate marketing and my Power Seller status was removed since I was not maintaining the $1,000 a month that eBay requires Power Sellers to maintain. Well forward to now and it’s time to redo the eBay business. With eBay you need to keep listing new item and re listing best sellers to gain more sales and get the Power Seller status. This week I am going to make a plan and by next week I should be able to put some action into getting back the Power Seller icon on my account. It will take hard work as you need to get $1000 a month in sales for a few months before eBay sends you the little email with the invite to the program.
There are some great books on Power Selling and the benefits to sales once you gain the status. Being a Power Sellers brings trust to the platform. The buyers on eBay will want your goods even if they cost more, because they now trust you.
Three Weeks to eBay Profits: Go from Beginner to Successful Seller in Less than a Month
eBay PowerSeller Secrets: Insider Tips from eBay’s Most Successful Sellers (2nd Edition) (v. 2)
There are also some training programs for eBay sellers. Don’t discount eBay they are still a very powerful online market place and many people make full time incomes from selling on eBay.

February 24th, 2009Cool StuffThe time has come to replace my old Wal-Mart bought cheap mp3 player. The old mp3 player only had 1G and the controls and screen where a drag. It took to much effort to find a song or move around the display. Since I am a Apple fanboy I thought I’d go out and buy an iPod Touch. The thing is that at the price of the Touch I would be worried about losing it or it getting stolen. The better choice was to find an MP3 Player that was light good display size and 4 to 8g. The new mp3 player should also have voice recorder and radio. The player does not have to have video, but that would be nice. If I can find one with voice recording that would be great for note taking when I’m driving or want to keep track of some random idea that I get. I guess I would like the video option. Sometimes you get stuck somewhere and watching a tv show from TIVO would be great.
Well after going through every source on the net to get reviews. This is the player I picked.
The new Creative Zen 8 GB Portable Media Player. After looking at all the players on the market I wanted to support Creative. They have been making player for a long time and Apple has taken a bit of there thunder. They deserve a little break here and there when they come out with a nice product like this ZEN.
This player cost $107.95 on line.

February 23rd, 2009Affiliate Networks, Goal Setting, Google Adwords, Home OfficeWorking from home is great, until you have to clean up the home office. Unlike a regular job a cleaning crew does not come in at night. The only cleaning crew around here is my wife and yes me. Since I run a few different business online there is always a bit of clutter. With my eBay business there is always unsold merchandise and odd items that I have no idea if they will ever sell.
Site Builder, Photo Gallery, Blog + Web Space and Free Domains!
Some stuff I keep around for garage sale season. The rest is constantly selling and I order more from my supplier so there is always something around. With my other online business it’s more paper work and computer gadgets that help the sites I run smoothly. There is also a work area where I pack eBay stuff and store supplies for shipping. That means every-time I clean up around here it’s a nightmare.

February 19th, 2009Affiliate NetworksA few posts back I listed a few of my favorite affiliate networks. There is one more network that has many offers and great brand names. The Link Share network has names like Apple, Overstock and many more. You can ramp up a few quick campaign or web sites with some great offers from Link Share. This was actually my first affiliate network that I joined. It felt amazing when I got my first check from them.
