So far I have not had to much sucess with Facebook Ad’s. I get clicks, but no converts. There has only been one campaign that I had running before Christmas that did convert. Many affiliate say you need to try different landing pages in order to test properly. That idea in mind I made a few changes and will be working on some other ideas to increase conversion rates. With paid traffic you can not spend to much time making mistakes you need to figure out quickly what work and what does not. The Facebook Ad system does have promise, but it is difficult to get your ad’s approved. The kids that work at Facebook really make it difficult to get an ad running. With time I figure they will get their act together in the meantime online marketers need to do their best to get customer to buy and not just click.

The last few days sales have been picking up on a few of my sites. These sales came as a result of a lot of hard work and learning. The funny thing is that I work very hard I would say even more then at any job I have ever had. The difference is that I really like my online business and the joy I get out every site or campaign that I create. Unlike a regular job I also get to keep the full profit for my hard work and do not have any dumb bosses telling me what to do. There is such a joy knowing that I can work at my own pace and do what I want to do. The other day I had worked for 5 hours straight and then went out and took the afternoon off. Even away from my computer I was still making money. What other job can give you this or other type of business. The online marketing world is filled with opportunity you just need to apply yourself to start seeing results. Anyone out there who has not made money online or just small amount do not give up. I can tell you there were many days I wanted to quit, but I stuck to the work at hand.

The results started to give way to a good amount of money. It has given me my freedom from working for other and to do the things I like. The ad’s at the top of this blog the little 125 X 125 squares gave me my freedom. When I joined these affiliate networks little did I know what lifestyle  I would get for just a hard work and effort. As a Canadian I followed yesterdays event in the US with much interest. I can only say I am very impressed with the new President and I wish him all the best. If he can live up to all the changes he wants to make the US will be a much better place and the world will also enjoy the results. As an online business owner I can also say I am looking forward to the economy picking up.

Started to get new sales on eBay. It was slow as normal the first 2 weeks of January, but it seems to be getting back on track. If you have any unwanted Christmas gifts start listing. With only a little less then a month to go for Valentine’s day if you have any items that relate start listing and give your self enough time to ship and get your items to customers on time. If you run affiliate offers start ramping  your promotions Valentine’s is a great time to make extra cash. This week I am going through a lot of unwanted stuff I have at home and listing it on eBay and Craigslist. There are some items that I will garage sale in the summer, but it feels good to clean and get rid of the clutter.

The first week of the year is always slow. It gave me a chance to get caught up on the ugly side of online marketing. Since I did not have much income to worry about last week, I updated many of my sites. There are also some new sites I want to have up in time for the various holidays coming up through out the year. The second week of January you start to see more traffic and conversion rates start to go up. Let’s hope that traffic picks up and people get back into their spending mode.

In 2004 I did a programme called The Rebel Billionaire for Fox Television, where I was nice to people and then had to whittle them down to a winner. In one episode, I told a participant we were going to be the first to go over the Victoria Falls in a barrel. Annie Taylor was the first person to conquer the Niagara Falls in Canada, riding the 170-foot drop in an airtight wooden barrel in October 1901. Since then many other daredevils have copied her achievement. But the Victoria Falls in Africa – at 360 feet – is more than twice as high, and much more dangerous, with jagged rocks at the bottom. I asked one of the contestants, Sam Heshmati, if he was ready for the challenge of going over the falls with me, in a barrel I said had been specially created by NASA.

Were we going to do this thing? Bravely, Sam nodded. We got into the barrel. A large crane lowered us into the fast-flowing river, a few metres away from the drop. A two-minute countdown began. It seemed an eternity, Five. Four. Three. Two . . .

A split second before we were due to plummet, I shouted: ‘Stop! Hold on just one moment, I want to show you something.’

So we got out. And I showed young Sam the bottom of the falls. I pointed at the rocks below.
